Justice In Motion
2024 grant recipients
Project funded by the Powerhouse Grant - Grant large and project completed July 2024
CODE is an exploration into county lines and knife crime through a spectacular blend of physical theatre, parkour and trials bike stunts with live rap and music. The grant funded four days of workshops and performances at Aureus School. 500 pupils participated in the education programme and watched the performances and a further 350 members of the local community watched the public performance.
“‘We have a high number of vulnerable students in our school who are at risk of being groomed, including 12 young people currently involved, or at risk of being involved, in county lines. Justice in Motion’s use of creativity is an excellent way of increasing awareness, connection, and aspiration that there is another way.”
Joni McAuliffe, Head of Drama, Aureus School
Project Impact:
One impact measurement was that the young people became more aware of the issues of county lines and child criminal exploitation and are better informed on what actions they can take if they have concerns around these issues.
