All Yours Period Box

Project funded by the Powerhouse Grant - Medium grant - project completed November 2024

Building on their work in Didcot in 2023, All Yours used their Didcot Powerhouse grant to support people in the local community with period products. Partnering with Didcot Foodbank and SOFEA’s Didcot Community Larder, we ensured that everyone had a range of free period products to choose from and could access the products they needed every month to ensure they had a safe and comfortable period. Using the Powerhouse Grant, All Yours was able to provide 400 period boxes, supporting approximately 1000 periods for both adults and teens. 

“This service has helped so much as I have a really heavy and painful period so it gets really expensive as I can use up to a package of pads a day and when my period last for two weeks that's a lot of products and money I don't have.” 

Impact achieved so far:

We planned to deliver 370 period boxes from May to December 2024. We delivered 400 period boxes during this time. SOFEA’s Didcot Community Larder received 230 and Didcot Foodbank received 170. 

Our impact data shows us that the products available helped to manage 1000 periods. We also learnt that most people collecting period products were adults, but they did collect teen products on behalf of their children too. All our respondents stated that they were struggling to afford all the essentials needed for their households in 2024. 

We were able to track the impact on mental health and wellbeing of our period boxes and those we supported typically reported that without the support of a period box, they would have struggled to manage their period, and it would have caused a strain on their menstrual health and potentially led them to manage their periods with makeshift period products instead.
