Impact Report 2024 Event

Last week almost 100 guests attended an exciting event to mark the publication of The Didcot Powerhouse Fund’s Impact Report 2024, at the Bee House, Milton Park. Guests included grant recipients, donors, partners, Patron Lord Vaizey, MP David Johnston and Mayor of Didcot, Axel Macdonald. A film was shown, highlighting the statistics associated with deprivation in Didcot, alongside the tremendous work and progress that grant recipients are making on the projects they nominated for a grant last year.

Luke from the Abingdon Bridge, a 2023 grant recipient organisation, gave a compelling address about how he had turned his own life around with their help. Therapy has taken him from ‘a dark place’ to one where he is now captain of his local football team and where he has regained his confidence and is postively looking forward to the future. It was just one example of the way in which Powerhouse funding through grant-giving has been channelled through organisations that make a big impact on the commmunity, and many individuals within it.

Gary Hibbins, CEO of Abingdon Bridge shared his exciting news that they had recently secured a grant from the National Lottery, on the back of the grass roots funding they had received from The Didcot Powerhouse Fund as it had helped demonstrate the support they were receiving locally. This is another positive aspect to becoming a grant recipient - it is an enabler in more ways that one.

The evening was a great success and the Impact Report is available to read here.
